January 01, 2015: Trans Global Projects (TGP) has expanded its presence in Europe with the acquisition of a leading Swiss logistics firm.
Project specialist NATCO AG has been operating in Switzerland for more than 35 years, successfully positioning itself as an exclusive, high quality service provider in the industrial projects and heavy lift sector. Air freight is a further specialisation of the company, while road and sea cargo services are also provided. Offering a similar range of services as Trans Global Projects does on an international platform, the two companies have a common multi-national customer base, enabling the merged firm to offer an enhanced service to clients.
NATCO's devotion to providing a high standard of service, combined with its central European location in Switzerland, made the company an excellent choice as Trans Global Projects' first major acquisition.
A significant step in the group's continued development, the multi-million pound deal completed on 1 January 2015.
At its foundation in 1988, TGP was a subsidiary company of the Trans Global Group, one of the UK's largest independent multi-modal transportation organisations.
The company embarked on a program of opening a network of international offices across five continents, serving a varied customer base and establishing itself as a trusted provider of project logistics management. This service has since grown to include supply chain management, passenger aviation, ship chartering, consultancy services and procurement.
To support these core activities the firm also created its own powerful tracking and reporting system, Global Track
Trans Global Projects took the next step in its development when Breezeline International Group Ltd – a co-investor since the start and itself owned by members of the senior management team – acquired full ownership of the TGP group of companies in 2007.
