July 27, 2015: The CMA CGM Group, via its subsidiary CMA CGM LOG, has signed a unique agreement with Godilco – a Uruguayan logistics company. The partnership will position CMA CGM LOG as a direct provider of warehousing and distribution services in Uruguay.
By working along with Godilco, CMA CGM LOG will be able to provide its clients with bonded warehousing and local distribution solutions.
Uruguay has a strategic location in South America: the port of Montevideo is key to provide inland transportation on barges or roads to Paraguay, Argentina and Chile.
Already present in Uruguay through its office in Montevideo and its five direct lines calling at the port, CMA CGM will develop a complementary logistics expertise in this country, via its logistics subsidiary CMA CGM LOG.
Created in 2001, CMA CGM LOG is the CMA CGM Group's subsidiary specialized in freight forwarding and logistics solutions. Its 1,000 experts offer logistics solutions in 37 countries, including air freight, multimodal transport, customs management, warehousing and distribution and a wide range of logistics services.
Mathieu Friedberg, Vice President Freight forwarding and Logistics activities said: "The partnership with Godilco is a decisive step in the group's development in Latin America. CMA CGM LOG has been operating in Brazil since 2013 and now pursues its development by opening new offices in Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Chile and Bolivia. We see South America as a high potential area and we want to position ourselves as a pioneer in this part of the world."
