DUNKERQUE: November 16, 2015: The shortsea shipping company MacAndrews, a subsidiary of the CMA CGM group, has doubled its service frequencies between Dunkerque, Cartagena, Algeciras and most Portuguese ports.
Commenting on the new service MacAndrews' CEO Geoffrey Smith said: "Doubling the frequency will reinforce MacAndrews' position and support its strategy to offer modal transfer for ambient, chilled and frozen goods. In competition with road transport, multimodal transport offers many advantages such as cost, reliability and reduced emissions."
Stéphane Raison, CEO of Dunkerque-Port explained the additional operation is also a response of the determination by logistics chain operators to provide virtuous transport – in line with the COP21 conference in Paris later this month.
"I am grateful to the CMA CGM group and its subsidiary MacAndrews for their longstanding confidence in the efficient and ongoing development of these transport links to integrate the port of Dunkirk as a maritime redistribution port for shortsea shipping," she added.
