MARSEILLE: January 11, 2016. CMA CGM has added several ports of call on services between Europe and West Africa, the Indian Ocean and Europe-Asia.
Dunkerque is now part of the carrier’s weekly EURAF 1 service linking points in Europe with Dakar and Abidjan in West Africa. Using six 3,500 TEU capacity vessels, the Dakar-Dunkerque transit will be nine days, Abidjan-Dunkerque 13 days, Bamako, Mali 26 days and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso in 22 days.
The carrier has also extended its bi-weekly Indian Ocean Feeder North service to Nossi Be and Antsiranana, (Diego Suarez) to connect with its Swahili Express service at Longoni - that now includes a direct call at Nacala, Mozambique - for faster transits from Europe, the Mediterranean, India and the Middle East/Gulf region.
Swahili Express is a weekly fixed-day service that includes Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar and Port Victoria with six vessels up to 2,800 TEU capacity. Fom March this year CMA CGM will replace its 'DELMAS' brand in African markets.
From January 11, 2016 CMA CGM has added Shanghai to its FAL 1 Eastbound service that now links Southampton, Dunkerque, Hamburg, Rotterdam and Zeebrugge with several Asian points via Malta and Khor Fakkan. Transit times between Hamburg and Shanghai are 36 days and Le Havre and Shanghai, 32 days.
