FORT WORTH, TX: February 10, 2016. American Airlines Cargo has updated its website with enhanced tracking functions to increase visibility into the entire shipping process from booking to delivery.
The features include live “at-a-glance” status updates via color-coded progress bars; detailed flight, AWB and Customs information; simple access and navigation to shipping history; and added sorting and viewing capabilities for logged-in users.
The move by AA Cargo coincides with a mandate from U.S. Customs that requires all forwarders file their entries using the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) by the end of this month. From February 28, ACE becomes the primary system through which the trade community – including forwarders – must report all imports and exports.
“We gathered feedback from our customers on the tracking process and used that valuable information to make needed changes—overall it’s just a simpler and more user-friendly experience,” said Eric Mathieu, AA Cargo’s director of Customer Experience. “Our customers wanted better organization, increased transparency into their flights and shipments, and real-time updates from point A to point B. This is a much easier tool to use.”
This year the airline will continue its global implementation of electronic AWBs (eAWBs) acceptance, invest in new technology and warehouse equipment, upgrade warehouse facilities, and add more ExpediteTC and perishable facilities at major destinations.
