LONDON, July 16, 2016.The WACO group of independent forwarders has appointed Amadrah International Freight Forwarding as its member for Iran.
Founded in 2011 the Tehran-based forwarder operates out of Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport Cargo Terminal plus a port office in Bandar Abbas.
“Iran is an interesting market with new opportunities,” said WACO System executive director Richard Charles. “Amadrah International brings established local knowledge and expertise to our network and we look forward to developing,” he added.
Amadrah services include airfreight, warehousing, Customs clearance, multimodal freight transport and packaging. “We are excited to be joining The WACO System and look forward to working with our fellow members,” said Amadrah managing director Maziar Modjtahedi (right).
WACO is an association owned by its 110 members based in 107 countries operating a network covering 400 locations.
In a further bid to encourage non-oil trade, the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said today 200 foreign banks have forged relationships with the country since January. According to a report by the Iranian Tasnim news agency, Iranian banks are now opening accounts and letters of credit with banks in Asia and Europe.
