LUXEMBOURG: November 07, 2016. CHAMP Cargosystems is extending the scope of its Traxon Global Customs (TGC) solution to freight forwarders due to changing regulations by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
Canada is a part of an increasing number of countries requiring Advance Electronic Information (AEI) for Customs pre-arrival filing from forwarders.
eManifest, the third phase of CBSA's Advance Commercial Information program (ACI), will be introduced in several steps beginning with a no-penalty transition period between November 07, 2016 and January 10, 2017.
After that date, non-compliant forwarders may be issued with a penalty said CHAMP.
TGC is a single interface for airlines, handlers and forwarders to report data electronically to Customs in over 40 countries.
CHAMP vice resident Global Sales and Marketing Nicholas Xenocostas commented: "The trend to fully automated, paperless Customs makes TGC more relevant than ever."
