SWITZERLAND: January 31, 2017 Kuehne + Nagel has achieved full IATA CEIV Pharma certification of its K+N 'PharmaChain GxP' air network that includes 86 locations on six continents.
IATA introduced the CEIV Pharma Standard in 2015 to improve competency and operational and technical mobility in the air logistics industry and enable pharma shippers to identify approved providers.
K+N uses a web-based risk assessment tool for risk assessment at a lane level and all Standard Operating Procedures are managed via a pharma-compliant document management system.
The company's network provides differentiated solutions for critical general cargo, ambient, or temperature controlled door-to-door services with real-time monitoring and visibility via active transmitting sensors.
Marcel Fujike, K+N senior vice president Products & Services Global Air Logistics said his organization was "delighted to be the first logistics provider receiving CEIV Pharma accreditation for our entire network".
Meanwhile, Bolloré Logistics has also received similar pharma approval - this time for its Paris CDG location following certification of the company's Brussels, Frankfurt and Lisbon sites.
Brice Bellin, Healthcare director Europe of Bolloré Logistics commented: "By certifying our hubs around the world we are able to guarantee our customers airfreight transportation respecting the cold chain and the strict quality standards required by the pharmaceutical industry. This certification demonstrates our ability to standardize our end-to-end processes from origin to final destination."
