Saudia Cargo part of record showcase at transport logistic

MUNICH, GERMANY, May 15, 2017: During transport logistic 2017 last week, Saudia Cargo celebrated "Saudi Nights' - an age-old Bedouin tradition "created for our industry partners who continue to support us through the years," explained CEO Nabil Khojah.

"This is a time for us to get together and learn more how we can work best. Great hospitality is deeply rooted in our culture and we want our partners to experience that first-hand from us," he added.

It was a view shared by event organizer Messe Munchen managing director Stefan Rummel who observed: "International exchange of goods, knowledge and ideas is an essential factor in prosperity."

Saudia Cargo presentationThe industry's premier biennial logistics exhibition reported record attendance this year with 2,162 exhibitors from 62 countries showcasing their products and services that included Saudia Cargo's high-value and pharma products.

"Saudia Cargo takes pride in its global reputation as a reliable and trustworthy airfreight company. We are here for the long haul and we want our industry partners to get that sense at every opportunity," said Khojah.

With a fleet of B747 and B777 freighters coupled with the bellyhold capacity of 126 widebody aircraft operating to 52 destinations worldwide, Saudia Cargo recently hosted a perishables forum in Johannesburg to stress the importance of temperature-controlled facilities and services.

"This time we showcased some of [our] latest equipment in handling high-value, time-sensitive goods. Quality and safety are paramount in our operations and we make sure that our customers get the best value for their money, hence, we have invested heavily on equipment that best serve their interest," Khojah continued.

Last month Unilode began an outsource contract with Saudia Cargo to manage its general cargo and specialist ULDs. Executive director Commercial Rainer Mueller said such an arrangement was essential in today's business world: "There's no denying we need to adapt to the changes. Saudia Cargo is among companies that continue to strive for excellence and invest in knowledge and skills as part of our commitment to our customers to serve them better."

An independent company since 2008, Saudia Cargo is part the Saudi government's 'Vision 2030' program that aims to transform the Kingdom's strategic location into a global hub connecting Asia, Europe and Africa. The vision also includes increasing SME contribution to the Saudi economy from 20 percent to 35 percent.

The company's success was reflected in the presentation of an industry achievement award (pictured) during the four-day transport logistic event for "its stellar contributions and innovations in the airfreight industry for many decades," according to the citation.

Receiving the award Muller said: "We share this momentous occasion with our customers for their continued trust and confidence on our products and services. This award also goes to every Saudia Cargo employee for their relentless commitment to serve with utmost care and excellence. This award also sets precedence for us to strive harder and perform even better as the digitalization trend sets in, changing the face and the pace at which cargo is moved around the world."
