PARSIPPANY, NJ: INTTRA, the ocean shipping e-commerce network, says the top five carriers providing the best shipment data in May for its quality programme are APL, CSAV Group, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) and Hapag-Lloyd.
Rankings and figures are derived from analysis into shipment status events matched with the transport plan provided to shippers using the INTTRA network.
March figures showed APL, MOL and UASC in the top three places. The positions remained unchanged in April ahead of CSAV and Hapag-Lloyd.
In addition to providing carriers with a better way to manage and improve their data quality, INTRAA says the monthly measurement programme provides shippers, freight forwarders and logistics providers with accurate and timely data to their clients.
"INTTRA 's ocean carrier information quality programme has been a major catalyst for the steady improvement of carrier information, and INTTRA – along with the Top 5 carriers named in data quality – now play a central role in the advancement of this critical area," said Panalpina senior vice president for ocean freight Wolf Scheder-Bieschin: "Through access to container status event data that is more complete, timely and accurate, we are better positioned to execute on our vision to deliver superior end-to-end customer experiences."
INTRAA says since it launched the programme last September, the total number of shipments with container status event messages has improved by 12 percent – thus avoiding 2.3 million incomplete shipment data records.
