June 11, 2015: Allport Cargo Services (ACS) is teaming up with Ulusoy Logistics Group in a joint venture that is set to enhance transit services to and from Turkey and strengthen the pair's competitive positioning in this vibrant market and trade route.

ACS, one of the largest independent freight forwarders in the UK, with an established presence worldwide, will hold a 45 percent share in the joint venture whilst Ulusoy, an international logistics company owned by Alican Ulusoy, will take a 55 percent share.

The two companies know each other well, having worked together for 25 years, and will combine their expertise and resources to provide an enhanced level of service to an already extensive customer base, as well as a solid platform for further growth.

Together, ACS and Ulusoy will offer customers increased choice, efficiency and value for money with a fleet size of 1500 and a network of road, sea and air freight forwarding services. They will cover 131 countries and will be served by a team of 21,000 employees, operating from 450 offices worldwide.

Charles McGurin, Chief Excutive Officer at Allport Cargo Services, commented: "The partnership with Ulusoy cements the importance of Turkey as a key trade lane for our business and ensures that we are best placed to build upon our existing presence there.

"It will enable us to offer customers a unique and an unrivalled level of service and will put us both in a prime position to benefit from the vast number of opportunities that Turkey holds for the logistics sector."

Ertunc Lacinel, General Manager at Ulusoy Logistics Group, adds: "The joint venture is an exciting development for ACS and Ulusoy with mutual benefits for both parties. Working with ACS means that we can offer even greater efficiency to customers, leverage growth opportunities and further build upon our stronghold."
