MEMPHIS: July 06, 2017. FedEx reports most services from its TNT subsidiary are now available with all depots, hubs and facilities open, operational and working to clear backlogs following last week's 'Petya' ransomware cyber attack.

ecoDemonstratorTNT said it continues to make "significant progress" in resuming full services and bringing critical systems back online, as contingency plans to use FedEx Express and TNT networks remain in place.

While TNT operations and communications systems have been disrupted, no data breach or loss is known to have occurred, according to the company. FedEx said it cannot measure the financial impact of the attack on TNT at the moment, but added "it could be material".

Meanwhile FedEx has agreed to operate Boeing's next 'ecoDemonstrator in 2018 to test emerging technologies, including propulsion advancements and flight deck innovations.

"FedEx is committed to developing and implementing innovative solutions that connect the world responsibly and resourcefully," said David Cunningham, president & CEO, FedEx Express. "We're proud to work with Boeing and use our B777 Freighter to play a key role in bringing future benefits to the entire aviation industry."

The testing includes installing a compact thrust reverser developed by Boeing designed to save fuel, flight deck improvements that can improve efficient operations in and out of busy airports, and flying prototype airplane parts using cutting-edge manufacturing techniques that reduce material waste.

The three-month collaboration is the latest in a 38-year relationship between the two companies.
