October 07, 2014: CHAMP Cargosystems today announced that Cathay Pacific has selected Cargospot to support improved operations and customer support.

CHAMP is pleased to announce that Cathay Pacific has selected CHAMP Cargosystems to provide their new cargo IT platform following a successful six month design phase. CSS, as it is known, is a further step in Cathay Pacific's ambitions to remain at the forefront of harnessing technology to support world class process and people as an integral part of its drive for improved competitive advantage.

John Johnston, CEO of CHAMP Cargosystems, commented "We are delighted to be partnering with Cathay Pacific to further its ambitions in the air logistics market. CHAMP and Cathay Pacific have a common 'can-do' mindset which will help in the successful delivery of the project over the coming months. The agreement with Cathay Pacific further accelerates CHAMP Cargosystems as being the provider of choice for leading global airlines."

James Fernandez, Vice President for Global Commercial Operations stated: "Throughout the analysis and design phase of the programme CHAMP has demonstrated its blend of industry and IT capabilities to Cathay Pacific and this has culminated in our successful selection to complete the project for Cathay Pacific. Together with SITA's ATI Cloud service and consulting skills from PWC, CHAMP has formed a world class team to support a world class carrier. We are looking forward to a long and mutually-beneficial relationship."

James Woodrow, Director Cargo, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd says: "We are very pleased to select CHAMP as our cargo IT system provider. The new technology will support the continued growth of our airline and help to meet the expanding expectations of our cargo customers. The changeover to the new technology will replace our in-house system which was introduced in 1980s and will ensure that Cathay Pacific Cargo continues to improve customer service levels, efficiency and productivity."

The air cargo industry particularly needs to transform itself and modernize and needs a strategic approach to IT investments. Cathay Cargo has recognized this and together with CHAMP Cargosystems continues to innovate, invest and grow in support of the wider air cargo community.
