Trainee BLG This year, 56 young people embarked on training or dual study programs at BLG LOGISTICS.

They had a choice of twelve professions at more than ten locations. "With our broad range of training opportunities and exciting program we want to attract people to logistics in general and of course BLG in particular," said BLG's Labor Relations Director Ulrike Riedel. On Thursday September 1, she welcomed the 35 new trainees and dual-study students for the Bremen locations to the company's Training Center. "Vocational and professional training opens up many paths and opportunities for personal development with us in the BLG family – in Bremen and at our other locations. I hope you'll feel at home quickly and find your niche here," said Ulrike Riedel.

Once again this year, one of the most popular training courses at BLG in Bremen is Specialist for Warehouse Logistics. Nine youngsters have started this program. The second-largest group joined up for a dual Bachelor program. Six people are aiming to qualify with a Bachelor of Arts in Forwarding, Transport, and Logistics Management. BLG LOGISTICS in Bremen is also training four warehouse and three mechatronics specialists. The other career starters are two future drivers, two IT Specialists for System Integration, two Industrial Management Assistants, three Office Management Assistants, and two Forwarding & Logistics Management Assistants. There are also two trainees in a completely new training program – Human Resources Management Assistant.

The training programs at BLG LOGISTICS are fascinating and varied: Every four to six months, the trainees and dual students change to a new department. This gives them experience in many different areas and they can build up a network within the company. To encourage close contacts between the trainees, BLG organizes lots of events throughout the year, including trade shows, soccer tournaments, and participation in Bremen's annual funfair parade. An "after-school workshop" takes place once a week after classes. This gives the trainees an opportunity to learn together and get to know each other.

To get even more young people interested in training at BLG LOGISTICS, a number of trainees and dual students have formed a group that regularly visits schools to tell students about their experiences. The self-styled "Future Designers" answer questions in the classroom and explain from their own perspective what challenges and successes they have experienced so far. They also represent BLG at job fairs where they talk about their daily work.

Training at BLG offers plenty of advantages: A secure workplace and good trainee pay are top of the list. Extra benefits include fitness programs, a job ticket for public transport, attractive employee discounts, and capital-forming payments. Good performance guarantees a job at BLG after qualification.
