Employees from the Port of Felixstowe joined other volunteers at neighbouring Landguard Nature Reserve to remove posts, cordons and litter pick.
Port volunteers were also involved at the start of the project in March to protect the breeding area for ground–nesting birds, such as, the Plover, by erecting the posts and cordons.
The Nature Reserve, as well as being a very popular community asset, is also a designated Local Nature Reserve (LNR), due to its value to the local community and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) because of its high wildlife conservation value, such as its rare, vegetated shingle habitat and botanical species.
