September 25, 2015: United Transport and Logistics Company (UTLC), a subsidiary of Russian Railways (RZD), has begun its first container train service from the port of Yingkou, China to Moscow. The estimated transit time is 13 days.

This follows the recent signing of a cooperation agreement between RZD and the Yingkou Port Group Corporation.

The train, made up of 45 containers of consumer goods, left the port on September 17 and covered the distance to the border crossing in Zabaikalsk in two days. Here, another 17 containers were added.

Currently, as part of the RZD Express cargo delivery service, UTLC, together with the port of Yingkou, is modeling a technology platform for the delivery of goods from China to purchasers in Russia using the Alibaba e-commerce portal.

The key areas of cooperation between UTLC and Yingkou include the establishment of a Russo-Chinese logistics center in Moscow oblast, the formation of a joint operating platform, and the establishment of a Sino-Russian logistics park in the Port of Yingkou.

The port of Yingkou is the eighth largest port in China, serving 85 percent of domestic traffic by connecting northeastern provinces with southern ones, and ranks 12th in the world. The processing capacity of the port is 300 million tons a year.
