SHANGHAI: June 15, 2016. Cargolux today has launched capacity and service guarantees for shipments from 250kgs to 1,650 kgs from Luxembourg called ‘CV Select’ and ‘CV Select+’ respectively.
Both services include guaranteed access to capacity; priority space on the aircraft; a fly as booked confirmation; airport-to-airport service; and real time status update (track and trace).
The premium ‘Select+’ also includes a reduced cut-off time of 30 minutes.
The enhanced offerings coincide with news that the airline - now facing increased competition out of Luxembourg from Qatar Cargo – has carried 100,000 tonnes to and from Zhengzhou in two years.
Cargolux president and CEO Dirk Reich (right) noted: “With the help of HNCA, we have been able to build a substantial presence in one of the world’s most important markets. Today, we enjoy a mutually beneficial, successful relationship of trust and respect that has enabled us to reach several historic milestones together. Linking Zhengzhou to Chicago and beyond offers unique opportunities for shippers and manufacturers on both sides of the Pacific.”
Last year Cargolux and HNCA also launched an e- commerce platform ‘LuxFresh,’ to deliver delicatessen products to Henan consumers.
The airline currently operates seven flights a week between Zhengzhou and Luxembourg and over 100 weekly flights into Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taipei from other destinations worldwide.
Cargolux China, its Zhengzhou-based joint venture with HNCA, is set to launch in 2017 with three 747 aircraft operating on transpacific routes between China and the U.S.
With 30 airlines linking 98 national and international cities, cargo volume from Zhengzhou’s Xinzheng airport rose from 85,800 to 403,000 tonnes between 2010 and 2015, making it the eighth-ranked air cargo hub in China.
