DUISBURG, February 09, 2017. Following a revision of the traction agreement with Rail Cargo Austria, GreenBridge has introduced a fourth regular train service between Duisburg and the port of Trieste.

GreenbridgeGreenBridge is a joint initiative of Samskip Multimodal and Intercombi Transport (ICL), a subsidiary of Turkey's Netlog Logistics Group.

Each train has capacity for 34 unit loads including containers of up to 45 ft. and 13.6 mt. mega trailers. UN Ro-Ro provides a six-times weekly link to Turkey from Trieste - allowing truck drivers to bypass the mountainous Balkan region.

"The frequency increase vindicates the principles behind GreenBridge, which combines the benefits of Samskip's European multimodal network and Intercombi's in-depth industry expertise in the Turkish market," said Marcel Delmee, Greenbridge manager for Multimodal Services, Turkey Trades.

"Introducing the fourth roundtrip train meets expectations set out at the launch of GreenBridge in 2014 and will enhance service for existing and new customers. Our ambition is to add a fifth train in the future," he added.

ICL owns a fleet of 1,200 trucks and is a subsidiary of Netlog that operates 68 warehouses, manages 5,000 trucks and employs 8,000 full time staff.

Acquired in 2014 by Actera Partnership and Esas Holding, owner of Pegasus Airlines, U.N Ro-Ro operates a fleet of 12 vessels between Istanbul, Mersin, Trieste and Toulon.
