PARIS/MONTREAL: February 16, 2017. Montreal-based Exp-Air Cargo is now a subsidiary of the ECS Group as the general sales and service company bids to expand its business in the Americas.

Founded in 1990, Exp-Air Cargo represents a number of airlines operating in North America including Corsair, Copa Airlines, Cubana, Egyptair, Icelandair, Royal Jordanian and Royal Air Maroc – that signed a GSSA contract with the ECS Group in 2015. The general sales agent has additional offices in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver and Edmonton.

According to ECS the investment in Exp-Air will leverage cargo management, customer loyalty and expertise in business intelligence and IT in a "partnership [that] rests on mutual growth in revenue".

Commenting on the new addition, COO Adrien Thominet noted: "We share the same mind-set and have a common vision on how to tackle the challenges we are confronted with."

He added that Olynick would be responsible for ECS commercial development in the U.S. as head of the combined entity.

ECS now has 133 offices in 47 countries that produced 902,000 tonnes of airfreight for airline customers last year.
