LONDON: August 16, 2017. Wincanton, one Britain's largest logistics companies, is to establish a truck base at DP World London Gateway's logistics park from early next year.

According to the company there is strong interest from trucking companies in the remaining 5.5 acres available for lease from DP World.

DP World WincantonThe announcement follows a move by the SH Pratt Group to locate its new venture Halo in a custom temperature-controlled facility in the facility.

Oliver Treneman, DP World London Gateway Park Development director said: "The Logistics Park is not only the perfect location for warehouse and distribution facilities, but for services ancillary to the port. Truck parking facilities for hauliers looking to serve shipping lines and their customers in the most efficient ways are an important ancillary service to the UK's most sophisticated port.

"Wincanton has recognized the excellent location and facilities of our site, and we have worked together to ensure that their customers can benefit from them."

Chris Fenton, Wincanton managing director for Industrial & Transport added: "We have been moving containers in and out of DP World London Gateway Port since it opened three-and-a-half years ago.

"With Asia-Europe services now calling at the port and volumes continually increasing, now is the right time for us to have a base within the port so that we can provide an even better service to our customers."

Wincanton is a third party logistics and supply chain solutions provider operating from more than 200 locations across the UK and Ireland with around 3,600 vehicles.
