Sacramentio Metro Air ParkSACRAMENTO, CA: August 17, 2017. Amazon is putting the finishing touches to an 855,000 square feet, four-story fulfillment center at Sacramento International Airport's Metro Air Park with local reports suggesting Prime Air B767 freighter flights could begin serving the facility next month.

Earlier this week the company said it was launching a US$16 billion private offering of unsecured notes to fund its acquisition of Whole Foods Market, to repay a 1.2 percent note due this year, "and for general corporate purposes".

The company has also launched 'Instant Pickup', a free service for Prime and Prime Student members to select snacks, drinks and electronics for collection at five of Amazon's U.S. pickup locations in Los Angeles, Atlanta, Berkeley, Calif., Columbus, Ohio and College Park, Maryland. Amazon has 22 pickup centers on or near college campuses across the U.S.

"Instant Pickup is another way Amazon is making life more convenient for Prime members," said Ripley MacDonald, director of Student Programs. "As shopping behaviors continue to evolve, customers consistently tell us that they want items even faster."

The company says Prime members can browse, select, purchase and then pick up an order from a self-service locker within two minutes.
