Bahri VLCC.JPGRIYADH: February 01, 2018. Multipurpose ship operator Bahri took delivery of a second 300,000 bulk carrier today following the arrival of a sister ship a week earlier.

The vessel is part of a 10 VLCCs order Bahri signed with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries, South Korea in May 2015. The company has now taken delivery of seven ships and the remaining three will be delivered in the first half of 2018.

Bahri now has 90 vessels in a multi purpose fleet that includes 43 VLCCs.

"The addition of the new vessel has further strengthened our resolve to contribute to Saudi Arabia's endeavors to diversify its economy and reinforce its pre-eminent position as a strategic regional hub and logistics gateway across continents," said Bahri CEO Abdullah Aldubaikhi.

"With the new VLCC, we now have a greater competitive advantage in the global crude oil transportation industry to expand our customer base and offer reliable and efficient services across local and international markets," he added.
