TOKYO, March 01, 2018. Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) have established a partnership to enhance their "service and corporate value".

NCA B747-400FBy the end of the first half of 2018 they will add codeshares to leverage NCA's B747 freighter operation to North America and Europe, and ANA's current B767 operation to China and Asia plus its future B777 freighter capacity.

Both companies said their new MoU includes an expansion of their existing block space agreement and an agreement for ANA to provide maintenance support for NCA aircraft.

The move follows last month's announcement that NCA and Singapore Airlines Cargo (SIA) are to develop a strategic partnership based on their five year-old block space agreement.

As a first step the airlines have agreed to introduce cargo codeshare services between Tokyo and Singapore from April 01.

NCA currently operates six B747 freighter flights a week from Tokyo Narita to Singapore's Changi airport, while SIA connects Singapore to Tokyo with two daily flights to Narita and three daily flights to Haneda.

"NCA has maintained a continual presence in Singapore for over three decades and we are excited to embark on new partnership initiatives with SIA under this agreement," declared NCA president and CEO Fukashi Sakamoto.

SIA Cargo president Chin Yau Seng added: "The signing of this MOU marks our commitment to explore synergies and mutually enhance our product and service offerings for the benefit of our customers."

NCA, a subsidiary of NYK, operates B747-400 and -8 freighters to 15 cities in Asia, U.S. and Europe from Narita. SIA Cargo operates B747-400 freighters and manages the cargo capacity on passenger flights operated by Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and Scoot to over 100 destinations worldwide.
