PLANO, TX: March 20, 2018. FedEx and Walmart have agreed to establish 500 FedEx Office service centers in Walmart stores throughout the U.S. in the next two years.

The move follows the end of a FedEx Office pilot program in 47 Walmart locations in six states and is part of an expansion of the FedEx Corp. retail channel.

Walmart FEDEXFedEx Office operates 1,900 company-owned U.S. stores providing digital printing, professional finishing, document creation, direct mail, signs and graphics, copying, computer rental, free Wi-Fi and corporate print solutions.

“This strategic initiative between FedEx Office and Walmart builds on a shared goal of providing customers convenience and value, so they can save both time and money,” said FedEx Office CEO Brian Philips. “The growth of our store network to 500 new locations brings our brand even closer to busy consumers who have told us they are seeking secure, reliable options for packing, shipping and receiving packages.”

Customers can also have their packages held at any Walmart-based FedEx Office location for up to five business days.

“We know shipping and printing is one such service [customers] want to access in our stores, so we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with FedEx so that even more of our busy customers can take advantage of their pick up, drop off and printing services,” added Daniel Eckert, senior vice president, Walmart Services and Digital Acceleration.

FedEx Office has also launched a returns technology platform that provides high-volume merchants and e-tailers visibility into returns, shipment tracking, inventory management and returns analysis.

“Returns have rapidly evolved into a critical factor, second only to cost, in satisfying today’s e-commerce customers, said Ryan Kelly, senior vice president, FedEx Supply Chain. “FedEx Returns Technology bridges the gap between digital and physical, allowing merchants to define a returns strategy that works for their business model and for their customers.”
