MEA 2PARIS: April 26, 2018. Middle East Airlines (MEA) has appointed the ECS Group to provide sales and operations services at its European hub, Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Founded in 1945 and based at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport in the Lebanon, the airline’s network links the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the US with Beirut, Abidjan, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Larnaca and Riyadh with an A330-200 offering 1,200 tons of capacity a month.

“The collaboration between MEA and our group is a fantastic opportunity,” said Jean Ceccaldi, managing director of ECS subsidiary Aero Cargo France. “With our experience, expansive network and expertise as one of the world’s leading GSSAs, we will be able to significantly strengthen MEA’s position on the markets covered by our new partnership.”

ECS Group expects Europe to offer large volumes of airfreight to Beirut including perishables, flowers, cosmetics, and fashion as well as general cargo and plans to devise tailored offers for each market.

The company operates in 47 countries from 137 offices with 69 subsidiaries generating over 900,000 tonnes of airfreight annually for its airline partners.
