polish intermodal railAMSTERDAM: May 8, 2018. C.H. Robinson has launched a trans-Eurasian rail freight service between nine cities in China and eight in Europe.

Each train takes 18-20 days to link terminals in Zhengzhou, Suzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Yiwu, Xiamen, Shenzen and Guangzhou, with Malaszewicze (Poland), Hamburg, Duisburg, Milan, Tilburg, Lyon, Paris and Barking in the UK.

Full block train, single or multiple containers, LCL shipments and oversized cargo are available options, says the company.

“Until recently, a large percentage of container shipments from China to Europe were delivered by sea. By adding this service to our portfolio, we won’t compete with ocean shipping or air freight,” commented Ivo Aris, vice president C.H. Robinson Europe Global Forwarding.
