Qatar Cargo ShanghaiDOHA: May 16, 2018. Specialist fashion forwarder Expo Freight Logistics (EFL) has signed a charter contract with Qatar Airways for a weekly B777 freighter from Dhaka to New York.

Carrying 100 tonnes per flight of sportswear, lingerie, loungewear, bridal wear, workwear, swimwear and children’s wear, the service began on May 13 and will continue for 12 months.

According to the Bangladesh Export Promotion Bureau, the country earned US$28.15 billion from ready-made garments in 2017, 81.2 percent of its total exports.

“Bangladesh has been a very attractive sourcing market for retailers and the development of better and faster supply chain solutions will further strengthen its reputation in the region,” commented EFL founder and chairman Hanif Yusoof.

Guillaume Halleux, who opened Qatar Airways’ new stand (right) at Air Cargo China in Shanghai this week, said his company was proud of its partnership with EFL and appreciated the new contract that complements a daily freighter link between Dhaka and Doha as well as multiple daily passenger aircraft frequencies.
