GREER, SC: June 25, 2018. Hamburg-based Senator International has begun a weekly B747-400 freighter service between South Carolina’s Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) airport and Querétaro International, Mexico.

Senator Int. Greer SCQuerétaro, located just over 200 kilometres north of Mexico City in Mexico’s Bajio region, is a fast-growing growing economic area that includes automotive and manufacturing industries as well as one of the largest aerospace clusters in the world.

Last month Panalpina added Querétaro to a charter network that connects with its airfreight hub in Huntsville, Alabama.

Senator is already operating three to four flights a week from Munich via Frankfurt Hahn to GSP where BMW has its US assembly plant producing SUVs for both domestic and international consumption.

“We are excited to support Senator International in their expansion of services,” said Kevin Howell, GSP senior vice president and COO. “These new flights to QRO are another opportunity for manufacturers to move materials, parts and products quickly and more efficiently. More and more companies are discovering GSP is a great alternative to the slower turnaround time at the crowded traditional air cargo gateways,” he added.

GSP is constructing a US$15 million air cargo apron to handle B747-8 freighters and will break ground on a new 100,000 sq.ft. facility later this summer. Both are expected to be complete by next year.
