COURBEVOIE, France: July 04, 2018. Russian Railways supply chain subsidiary GEFCO has established a new company for finished automotive logistics with Spanish specialist BERGÉ.

Subject to European Commission approval, the equally- owned Newco BERGÉ GEFCO would have the combined capacity to manage 1.4 million cars annually via three million square metres of storage and the support of 700 trucks, 100 rail wagons and 40,000 sq. metres of workshop space.

BERGE GEFCOThe finished vehicle market in Spain is one of the world’s largest with three million vehicles produced annually of which 2.4 million are exported.

“We are very pleased to create a joint venture company with BERGÉ. Our partnership will allow us to offer an extended range of high-quality services that will benefit our customers, partners and employees,” said Luc Nadal, chairman of GEFCO SA’s management board.

The joint venture says it aims to improve key processes with existing resources to offer customers a full-range of finished vehicle logistics solutions including transport, storage, technical services, inspections and delivery.

BERGÉ is a Spanish multimodal logistics operator specializing in integral vehicles’ logistics, port operations, value-added logistics, and process outsourcing and shipping. It is part of BERGÉ y COMPAÑÍA, a company founded in Bilbao in 1870 operating in nine countries with 4,500 employees.
