FARNBOROUGH, UK: July 16, 2018. AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) and CargoLogicAir (CLA) have teamed with SITA subsidiary SITAONAIR to demonstrate how its Internet of Things (IoT) platform enables the monitoring of pharma shipments in flight.

V D CargoLogicAir Farnborough 2018The service collects IoT data from partner OnAsset Intelligence and sends it to a ground data management and dispatch platform. SITAONAIR claims there is no other solution that provides inflight cargo sensing and freight condition visibility, “as perishable and temperature-sensitive goods can only be monitored on the ground”.

ABC general director Sergey Lazarev said digital pharma was a priority for his company and with this new IoT service “our digital pharma service is born”.

CargoLogicAir CEO David Kerr added: “Customers in the air cargo industry are aiming at getting a better digital experience. With SITAONAIR we will be able to move towards the establishment of a holistic digital environment for our customers.”

SITAONAIR vice president of Strategy Dominique El Bez said a survey by SITA suggested 67 percent of commercial airlines aim to invest in IoT and so his company wants “to bring game-changing innovation to the aircraft Internet of Things space”.
