DHL first A330 PCF conversionDRESDEN: August 06, 2018. Egyptair Cargo has taken re-delivery of an A330-200 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) converted aircraft from Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), the joint venture between ST Engineering Aerospace and Airbus.

The airline has firm orders for three A330-200P2F and it is the first re-delivery of an A330-200 conversion following the delivery of a passenger aircraft A330-300 conversion last December to DHL (pictured).

EFW says the larger aircraft can carry up to 62 tonnes over 3,650 nautical miles with 20 percent more cargo volume than other freighter aircraft types with a similar range. DHL has firm orders for eight with options for another 10.

Commenting on the Egyptair Cargo delivery EFW said: "This and the new P2F generation efficiency are supposed to lower cost-per-tonne compared other available freighter aircraft types in this size segment."

Airbus says new airplane orders during the first seven months totalled 214 and included 145 A319s, A320s and A321s in the NEO version; 11 A319s, A320s and A321s in the CEO configuration; four A330ceo aircraft, four A330neo, 36 A350 XWBs and 14 A380s.
