SYDNEY: August 22, 2018. Swissport is pushing ahead with the integration of ground handler Aerocare in Australia and New Zealand.

Swissport AustraliaFollowing its acquisition in March 2018 and a subsequent name-change to Swissport Australia, president & CEO of Swissport International Eric Born and COO Joe Phelan have unveiled the new branding to staff, customers and partners at Sydney Airport.

"Today, the integration of Aerocare into Swissport’s global network is becoming visible in Australia and New Zealand," said Born. "Together with the Aerocare management, we are advancing with the integration according to our plan and we look forward to joint future business ventures in Australia, New Zealand and in the greater Asia Pacific region.”

Swissport plans to complete the conversion of all Aerocare airport locations by the end of 2018.

The company says the integration of Aerocare as Swissport Australia is a key step in its global growth strategy with an initital focus on Australia/New Zealand in order to "propel growth in the greater Asia Pacific region, both with ground handling and cargo handling services".

Founded in 1992, Aerocare employs more than 3,000 staff and provides services to major domestic and international airlines in Australia and New Zealand. 

The company manages more than 160,000 flights and serves some 15 million passengers annually. The number adds 6.0 percent to Swissport’s overall passenger volume which was 250 million a year prior to the acquisition.
