PARIS/DAKAR: February 18, 2019. Following delivery of the first of two A330neo aircraft last month, Air Senegal has begun service from Dakar to Paris with its 16-tonne per flight freight capacity marketed by the ECS Group via French subsidiary Aero Cargo.

The A330neo of Air Senegal and at DakarAir Senegal was formed in 2016 and begun regional services from Dakar to Ouagadougou, Banjul, Praia, Bissau, Conakry, Abidjan, Bamako and Cotonou last year.

“As part of its development and its policy of expansion, Air Senegal can confirm that it is working closely with ECS Group, which has been tasked with marketing freight capacity across the global network,” said Eric Iba Gueye, Air Senegal head of Network and Customer Experience.

“The airline aims to become a key player on south-to-north and north-to-south routes. Meeting safety and security standards for transporting both goods and people is central to everything we do,” he added. With a global contract signed by Aero Cargo, all ECS Group subsidiaries are now able to sell the airline’s cargo capacity.

“Our network and our in-depth understanding of and experience in the African market were major – if not decisive – factors in Air Senegal’s decision to choose us as its GSA,” explained ECS Group CEO Adrien Thominet.

Air Senegal’s first A330neo arrived at Dakar on January 31, 2019 during a ceremony attended by Macky Sall, president of the Republic of Senegal (pictured).
