COPENHAGEN: June 27, 2019. LATAM Cargo has become the first airline to offer direct service between Scandinavia and Latin America with a weekly B767-300 freighter service to Copenhagen.

The round trip includes Copenhagen, Viracopos, Montevideo, Santiago de Chile, Quito, Miami and Brussels. By significantly reducing the need for land transportation the new service cuts transit times by up to 48 hours, says the company.

LATAM Cargo CPHCopenhagen is the seventh destination opened in the last 12 months by LATAM.

“As the cargo leader in Latin America, we have undertaken the responsibility of connecting the region with the world and vice versa,” commented Gabriel Oliva, LATAM Cargo senior vice president for North America, Europe and Asia.

“Proof of this are the 150 destinations currently offered by the LATAM Cargo Group. The size and strength of our network are the pillars that make us a strategic partner for our customers in providing the support needed to take their shipments to their final destinations in less time,” he added.

Main Scandinavian business customers are expected to be pharma companies, carmakers and the oil and the paper sectors. “Adding a direct link is not only important to the handling and shipping of pharmaceutical products, it is equally important to the food Ingredients industry and automotive parts industry which also requires stringent and efficient transportation," commented Copenhagen Airports air cargo specialist Kaspar Andreas Nissen. "Being a CEIV certified carrier LATAM Cargo will now offer a unique pharma solution to South America," he continued.

“Every time clients think of Latin America we want LATAM Cargo to come to mind,” added Alfredo Noguerales, LATAM Airlines Senior Sales manager EMEA (excluding Central Europe).
