NAPLES: September 18, 2019. The Grimaldi Group has taken delivery of MV Grande Mirafiori, the second of seven Pure Car & Truck Carriers (PCTC) from the Yangfan Shipyard in Zhoushan, China.

Grande MirafioriThe vessel can carry 7,600 CEU (Car Equivalent Units) or 5,400 linear metres of rolling units and 2,737 CEU. With four hoistable decks it can load any type of rolling freight (trucks, tractors, busses, or excavators up to 5.3 metres high.

With a a length of 199.90 metres, a beam of 36.45 metres, a gross tonnage of 65,255 tonnes and a service speed of 19 knots. Grande Mirafiori is fitted with a side and quarter stern ramp to allow items weighing up to 150 tons to be loaded.

The Grande Mirafiori adds a fourth vessel to weekly RoRo services operating between the Mediterranean and Canada, US and Mexico that include 14 port calls: Gioia Tauro, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Savona, Valencia, Antwerp, Halifax, Davisville (New York), Baltimore, Jacksonville, Houston, Tuxpan and Veracruz.
